What we do

Reading & East African Community (REACO) is a voluntary organisation that runs Madrasa Taqwa with weekly religious and educational programmes for more than 120 children and young people and adults including Qur’an classes at Reading Bridge Hall
We are pleased to announce that since we shared our intentions to purchase Bridge Hall, Alhamdulillah by the grace of Allah, we managed to raise the deposit required and secure the building for the purchase.
This was made possible by the considerable support and generous donations of the REACO community, the Islamic community at large and their dua’s.

Bridge Hall is a community hall located on the corner of Oxford Road.  It is a single storey building thought to have been constructed in the late 1800’s. The building comprises of solid brickwork external walls with feature parapet walls incorporating a stone coping. The roof is pitched with a natural slate covering. A small entrance lobby at the front of the building has a flat roof behind a parapet wall. The main windows are single glazed timber sash windows, with a smaller number of casement or fixed windows.
Internally the property provides space for two small offices, a hall with an approximate space of 92.5sqm, a small kitchen, toilets (including one with disabled access) and storage.

For the last 10 years we have used Bridge Hall for various activities including:

  • Week end Madrasah for more than 120 children of ages 6 to 16 years old.

  • Ladies Quran weekly classes.

  • Friday and Eid prayers.

  • Community meetings.

Our intention is to expand our activities and use the building throughout the week to embrace our noble aim of education for all Muslims within the community. Our students are the ones

  • Who are God conscious

  • Whose role model is the Prophet, Peace Be Upon Him.

  • Who are conscious of their goal in life.

  • Who have high morals and values.

  • Who can distinguish right from wrong and be productive citizens.
